Copper color with big fluffy head.  Aromas of caramel, sweet dark fruit, and light yeast.  Taste is more caramel and dark fruit but with a little spiciness that balances the sweetness niceley.

Gouden Carolus Cuvee Ven De Keizer Rood/Red 2008
Mechelen, Belgium

A very unique beer, similar in taste to a Belgian Tripel.  Brewed in limited quantities only once a year, on the birthday of Charles the Fifth. Pours hazy golden with a thick white head.  Beautiful aromas of banana and other tropical fruit esters, fennel, parsley and other herbs (they add three herbs).  Wonderful mouthfeel and you will never tell that its 10% abv.

Enjoy with: Soft subtle cheese, by itself…really
